What is a bespoke tailor-fit suit?

A suit, blazer or shirt cut for one person: you. Instead of picking the closest size, you choose the fabric, the silhouette and every detail from the lapel to the cuff, and our tailors cut it to your measurements.

It all happens at our Jubilee Hills store. A stylist walks you through the fabrics and styles and measures you in person, then you come back for the final fitting.

Casual or formal: choose your blazer

Every blazer starts with the same three choices: the front, the lapel and the pockets. The pockets decide whether it reads casual or formal. Your stylist will help you match them to the occasion.

Casual blazers

Laid-back. Modern. Effortless.

Softer and easier, for dinners, weekends and travel. Wear it over an open collar, a polo or a tee.

Pockets

Formal blazers

  • Welt

The pocket rule: patch pockets read casual, flap and ticket pockets read formal, and a welt pocket works both ways.

A rich black wool suiting for timeless, sharp and understated formal looks.

    95% wool · deep black

  • What Super 100s, 120s and 130s mean

The Super number tells you how fine the wool fibre is: up to 18.75 microns for Super 100s, 17.75 for 120s and 17.25 for 130s. Higher numbers feel softer and drape more fluidly. Lower numbers are hardier, a smart pick for a suit you’ll wear every week.

2-ply × 2-ply means two-ply yarn runs both ways through the weave, for extra strength and better crease recovery.

Embroidery and finishing, for those who notice

Look closely and the difference shows: a placket stitched straight, a collar that sits flat under a blazer, a lapel that rolls instead of folding. On selected designs you can add hand embroidery too.

  • Hand embroidery
  • Zardozi
  • Zari
  • Thread work
  • Monograms
More choices. Less compromise.
A suit or shirt that fits you shouldn’t need an insider. That’s the idea behind Tailor Fit, and behind everything we make at HILO.

Bespoke tailoring in Hyderabad: a short guide

New to tailoring, or know exactly what you want? Here is what our stylists explain most often.

Bespoke, made-to-measure or ready-made?

Ready-made clothes are cut to a size chart, so they fit most people roughly. Made-to-measure adjusts a standard pattern to a few of your measurements. Bespoke tailoring starts with you: your measurements, your fabric and every style detail, from the lapel and pockets to the collar and cuffs, with a fitting before the garment is finished. HILO Tailor Fit brings that experience to Jubilee Hills, with a stylist guiding each choice.

How to choose your suit fabric

Start with how often you’ll wear it. For a suit you’ll wear every week, a hard-wearing TR twill or a Super 100s wool holds its shape and is easy to care for. For weddings, receptions and evenings, finer Super 120s and 130s Merino feel softer and drape more fluidly. In Hyderabad’s warm weather, lighter and finer weaves wear more comfortably. Feel each fabric in store before you decide.

Casual or formal: how to read a blazer

Look at the pockets first. Patch pockets, or none at all, make a blazer casual. Flap and ticket pockets make it formal, and welt pockets work for both. Peak and shawl lapels read dressier than a notch lapel, and a double-breasted front has more presence than a single-breasted one. Wear a casual blazer with chinos and an open collar, and a formal one with matching trousers, a crisp shirt and a tie.

Choosing a shirt collar

Wear a tie often? A point or spread collar frames the knot, and a spread suits a fuller knot. A button-down collar stays neat without a tie, and a cutaway looks sharp open or closed. For warm days and relaxed looks, a Cuban collar sits open, and a mandarin collar gives a clean band finish. Your stylist will help you match the collar to the occasion.

What to bring to your fitting

Wear or bring the shoes you plan to wear with the suit, because they change where the trousers should fall. Bring a shirt whose fit you like, and any photos of looks you love. Tell your stylist the occasion and its date, so the fabric and timeline suit it.

Tailoring for weddings and occasions

Planning a wedding wardrobe? Start four to six weeks before the first function, and earlier if you want hand embroidery. A tailor-fit suit or blazer for the reception or sangeet sits well alongside your other wedding looks, and your stylist can help you plan outfits across every function.

Tailor fit FAQs

Still have a question? Call or WhatsApp the store on +91 99083 89810.

What is a bespoke tailor-fit suit?

A suit cut for you alone: your measurements, your fabric and your choice of front, lapel and pockets. At HILO a stylist measures you in person at our Jubilee Hills store, and you come back for a final fitting.

Is bespoke the same as made-to-measure?

Not quite. Made-to-measure adjusts a standard pattern to a few of your measurements. With Tailor Fit you also choose the fabric and every style detail, from the lapel to the cuffs, and we fit it on you before it’s finished.

What’s the difference between a casual and a formal blazer?

Mostly the pockets. Patch pockets, or none at all, read casual. Flap and ticket pockets read formal. A welt pocket works both ways. Peak and shawl lapels and a double-breasted front also read dressier.

Which suiting fabric should I choose?

For a suit you’ll wear every week, Imperial TR twill or a Super 100s such as Zannoni or Einstein is hard-wearing and easy to look after. For weddings and evenings, Super 120s and 130s such as Vendome, Tortona and Vittorio feel softer and drape more fluidly. Super Black is the pick for a deep black formal suit.

What do Super 100s, 120s and 130s mean?

They measure how fine the wool fibre is: up to 18.75 microns for Super 100s, 17.75 for 120s and 17.25 for 130s. The higher the number, the softer and more fluid the cloth. Lower numbers are hardier for everyday wear.

Can I get a tailor-fit shirt?

Yes. Choose your collar (club, point, spread, button-down, Cuban, mandarin or cutaway), placket and cuffs, in shirting from Soktas, Santa Rosa, Thons Fluids and Legend.

Can I see and feel the fabrics first?

Yes. Our suiting and shirting fabrics are in the Jubilee Hills store, so you can feel the weight and drape before you choose.

What should I bring to my fitting?

The shoes you plan to wear, a shirt whose fit you like, and any reference photos. Tell your stylist the occasion and its date.

Do you make suits for weddings and receptions?

Yes. Many clients plan a reception or sangeet suit alongside their other wedding looks. Come in four to six weeks before the first function, and earlier if you want hand embroidery.

How long does it take?

Allow four to six weeks, then come in for the final fitting.

How much does it cost?

Made-to-fit is ₹1,000 over a design’s regular price. Bespoke pieces in your choice of fabric are priced by fabric: [PRICE GUIDE TO CONFIRM].

Do I need an appointment?

No, walk in any day between 10:30 am and 10:00 pm. If you’re planning a wedding wardrobe, book a time so a stylist is free the moment you arrive.
