Frequently asked questions
How far in advance should I order my wedding sherwani?
Give yourself four to six weeks if you want it made to your measurements. The hand embroidery alone takes time, and a rushed fitting is the one thing you cannot undo on the day. If the wedding is sooner than that, talk to a stylist and we will tell you honestly what is possible.
What is the difference between a sherwani and an indo-western?
A sherwani is the longer, more traditional silhouette, usually knee-length or below, worn with a churidar or dhoti. An indo-western is shorter and more structured, closer to a jacket. Grooms often wear the sherwani for the muhurtham and switch to an indo-western for the reception.
Can I get the sherwani in a colour that is not shown?
Often yes, depending on the fabric. Pure pattu and dupion silks come in a set range of shades, but embroidery colours and linings can usually be changed. Ask a stylist before you order rather than after.
Do you make matching outfits for the family?
Yes. Plenty of our grooms order coordinated kurtas or Nehru jackets for brothers, fathers and sons in the same fabric family. Mention it when you book and we will plan the yardage together.
What should I wear underneath a sherwani?
A churidar for the classic look, a dhoti for south Indian ceremonies, or straight trousers for a more modern line. Every sherwani set here lists what it comes with, and a stylist can advise if you want to change it.
